Poverty is a state or condition in which a person or community lacks the financial resources and essentials for a minimum standard of living. Poverty has plagued the communities in Eastern Kentucky and bordering parts of Virginia for generations and The Cars and Candy Foundation is partnering with Backroads of Appalachia to do our part to help. We’ve created an event for drivers that not only brings challenging roads, beautiful views of Kentucky and Virginia but also promotes tourism for the towns surrounding Hwy 160 offering 226 turns in 20 miles also known as the Dragon Slayer.
